ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਸਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਤ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਂਝਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਸੁੰਞੀ ਦੇਹ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਓਇ ਖਪਿ ਖਪਿ ਮੁਏ ਕਰਾਂਝਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਝਾ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਮਨੁ ਸਮਝਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਪਦੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਾਝਾ ॥ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਝਾ ॥੨॥ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ਗਵਾਝਾ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡ ਦਾਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਝਾ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਮਨ ਮਾਝਾ ॥ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਦਰਿ ਕਾਗਦ ਫਾਰੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਖਾ ਸਮਝਾ ॥੪॥੫॥

Meaning in Punjabi:

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਬਾਂਝ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਦਿਆ ਕਰੇ (ਤਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੰਞਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਹੀ ਤੁਰੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ, ਉਹ ਕੁ੍ਰਝ ਕੁ੍ਰਝ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ) ਸਮਝ ਗਿਆ ।ਰਹਾਉਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਗੱੁਝੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੀਵਾਲ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।੩।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਿਆ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ—ਹੇ ਭਾਈ) ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ (ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਪਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨਿੱਬੜ ਗਿਆ ।੪|

Meaning in Hindi:

हे भाई ! जिन मनुष्यों के हृदय में परमात्मा का नाम नहीं बसता।उनकी माँ को हरी बाँझ ही कर दिया करे (तो ठीक है। क्योंकि)उनका शरीर हरी-नाम से सूना रहता है।वे नाम से वंचित ही घूमते फिरते हैं।वे चिंताओं।कुड़न में दुखी हो-हो के आत्मिक मौत सहेड़ते रहते हैं। 1।हे मेरे मन ! उस परमात्मा का नाम जपा कर।जो तेरे अंदर ही बस रहा है।हे भाई ! कृपालु प्रभू ने (जिस मनुष्य पर) कृपा की उसको गुरू ने आत्मिक जीवन की सूझ बख्शी उसका मन (नाम जपने की महत्वता को) समझ गया।रहाउ।हे भाई ! जगत में परमात्मा की सिफत-सालाह ही सबसे ऊँचा दर्जा है।(पर) परमात्मा गुरू के द्वारा (ही) मिलता है।हे भाई ! मैं अपने गुरू से कुर्बान जाता हूँ जिसने मेरे अंदर ही छुपे हुए बसते परमात्मा का नाम प्रगट कर दिया। 2।हे भाई ! जिस मनुष्य को बड़े भाग्यों से गुरू के दर्शन प्राप्त होते हैं।उसके सारे पाप दूर हो जाते हैं।जिसे बड़ा समझदार और शाह गुरू मिल गया।गुरू ने परमात्मा के बहुत सारे गुणों से उसको सांझीवाल बना दिया। 3।हे भाई ! जगत के जीवन प्रभू ने जिन मनुष्यों पर कृपा की।उन्होंने अपने मन में हृदय में परमात्मा का नाम टिका लिया।हे नानक ! (कह– हे भाई !) धर्मराज के दर पर उन मनुष्यों के (किए कर्मों के लेखे के सारे) कागज फाड़ दिए गए।उन दासों का लेखा निपट गया। 4। 5।

Jaitsree, Fourth Mehla:The Lord’s Name does not abide within their hearts – their mothers should have been sterile.These bodies wander around, forlorn and abandoned, without the Name; their lives waste away, and they die, crying out in pain. ||1||O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, the Lord within you.The Merciful Lord God, Har, Har, has showered me with His Mercy; the Guru has imparted spiritual wisdom to me, and my mind has been instructed. ||Pause||In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praise brings the most noble and exalted status; the Lord is found through the True Guru.I am a sacrifice to my True Guru, who has revealed the Lord’s hidden Name to me. ||2||By great good fortune, I obtained the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy; it removes all stains of sin.I have found the True Guru, the great, all-knowing King; He has shared with me the many Glorious Virtues of the Lord. ||3||Those, unto whom the Lord, the Life of the world, has shown Mercy, enshrine Him within their hearts, and cherish Him in their minds.The Righteous Judge of Dharma, in the Court of the Lord, has torn up my papers; servant Nanak’s account has been settled. ||4||5||

Meaning in Spanish:

Yaitsri, Mejl Guru Ram Das, Cuarto Canal Divino.Oh Señor, aquéllos que no enaltecen Tu Nombre en su mente, más les valiera no haber nacido.Privados de Tu Nombre vagan sin luz, y llenos de aflicción desperdician sus vidas. (1)Oh mi mente, contempla el Nombre del Señor engranado en ti. Tu Dios será entonces Compasivo contigo y serás bien instruida en la Sabiduría del Guru. (Pausa)La Alabanza del Señor es el más elevado Estado de Éxtasis en la Era de Kali Yug, pero el Señor es conocido solamente por la Gracia del Guru. Ofrezco mi ser en sacrificio al Guru Verdadero, Quien ha manifestado en mí el Tesoro escondido del Nombre del Señor. (2)Por buena fortuna he tenido la Visión del Señor y mis errores han sido borrados.He encontrado al Guru Verdadero, mi Rey Sabio, y a través de la Misericordia del Señor comparto los Méritos de mi Señor. (3) Aquéllos a los que el Señor bendice, Lo enaltecen en su mente. En la Corte del Señor del Dharma, la cuenta de sus acciones es destruida y son liberados. (4‑5)
